Looking for the perfect way to celebrate the bride-to-be? Host a wine tasting bachelorette party! Today we’re sharing tips on how to throw a tasting party the bride to be will love!
Step One: Choosing the Wines
The first step in hosting a wine tasting party is choosing the wines you will be featuring! Start by choosing four to six wines to taste. Choose a theme for your wine tasting, like tasting wines grown in the same region or wines of the same varietal but from different regions. You could also do an inexpensive versus expensive blind tasting and have the guests choose which they think is the more expensive wine.
Each pour will be between 2 to 3 ounces, so plan your quantities accordingly!
Once you have your wines chosen, it’s time to prepare the supplies you’ll need! If you don’t have enough wine glasses for each guest to use, encourage them to bring their own, purchase custom glasses or rent a few sets for your party. Guests can use the same few glasses through entire tasting, rinsing them out between each pour. You’ll also need a wine opener, napkins, a decanter for bolder red wines that need time to aerate and a spitoon.
Once you have all you need for your tasting party, it’s time to celebrate the bride to be and drink some wine!
Step Two: Tasty Bites for Pairing
A wine tasting bachelorette party is nothing without tasty bites to eat while you’re sipping on your wine!
A charcuterie board is a perfect choice for a wine tasting party. Choose a variety of meats and cheeses to fill your board, along with nuts, olives and crackers. Guests snack while the tasting is going on to see how different foods affect the taste of wine.
You can also serve a variety of sweet treats as well, as chocolate and wine pair together nicely too!
Step Three: Have Fun!
The bride to be will have so much fun learning about wine with her favorite girls. Make the night even more exciting with a dinner following the tasting or with fun bachelorette games to play while the tasting is going on.
Customize your party a bit with custom wine glasses designed specifically for the party and with tasting note cards so each guest can remember which wines they liked best and what she paired them with.
As a thank you for attending, send each guest home with a ‘Cheers’ bottle opener and a ‘Love’ bottle stopper – she’ll remember how much fun she had celebrating with the bride to be each time she uses them!
